I have pursued a life long career of coaching and helping others. It truly has been a career of relationships! I began a career in the Health and Fitness industry in 1984. Retiring in early 2020 as a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Exercise Nutrition Specialist, and an Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching graduate. My brick and mortar business, bFit Studio, L.L.C. was a service that provided Fitness Classes and Training, Nutritional Counseling and Health Coaching. Meeting people where they are and providing sound, safe, information to improve their life, confidence, and empowering clients to take control of their health. I have been committed to being a life long learner and passing that information on to others in ways that are meaningful to them.
My interest in firearms began when I joined the Army in 1978. I grew up in a small town in the mid-west in a farming community and I wanted to “see the world”! I spent 3 years in the military and am grateful for the many lessons of life and discipline that it taught me.
Having not shot for some time, I took up shooting again for recreation in 2015, I realized that there was a need for training, specifically for women. I began to seek out women’s groups for training and community and eventually found a local chapter of The Well Armed Woman. After a year of membership, I became an NRA Certified Instructor and began to volunteer for our chapter.
I started my second business, bSafe Firearm Training in 2018 and offer a variety of classes and private lessons primarily to women. I hold Instructor Certifications through the NRA in Basic Pistol, Refuse To Be a Victim, Range Safety Officer and am also a Training Counselor with the USCCA teaching a variety of disciplines.
My husband Clark, LTC (RET) and I enjoy our church community, athletics, outdoors & gardening. We have two great kids, Travis and Morgan, who are married and have given us 4 amazing grandchildren! We love this season of life being Cha Cha and Gdaddy!
It has truly been a privilege to join Shoot Like a Girl to partner with such a wonderful group of women! I may be in a new season of life but am still able to coach, encourage, an empower women to try new things, reach for new goals and gain confidence!
