We Dare You to Accept this Safety Challenge

Practice Safety Everyday

Dares are rarely not safety-conscious endeavors.  At least the ones I remember from my youth, were normally the farthest thing from safe.  One I remember (vaguely and sorry mom), was that my friends and I were walking home from the store, on a busy road, in the country we called it a highway.  One of the girls shouts out, “I dare you to stick out your thumb to hitchhike!” Well, three of the five of us, all did so immediately.  Just as we did, a guy in a red pick-up truck, slammed on his brakes, and skidded to a stop on the side of the highway.  We all looked at each other in panic, and ran into the woods towards a neighborhood.  This dare was neither safe, nor smart on our part.  Luckily, we made it home; and even though we laughed about it, we learned a safety lesson. So, we dare you to accept our safety challenge.

Here is the challenge – Practice Safety Every Day

June is National Safety Month, but safety should be practiced every day.  It is easy to get complacent on basic personal safety; especially when we are in our comfort zone.  This applies to situational awareness and normal things we do all the time, like use a pocket- knife to open a box, reach into a hot oven, run with scissors (just kidding we don’t run with scissors). 

Here are a few things you can do to focus on safety:

Will you dare to take our Safety Challenge?

Can you put safety into practice in everything you do, every day?
